Hey, it’s Ger the resident floor-rumbler here.
OK, it’s no secret that I’m a huge Nikki Sixx fan. In fact, I may be close to admitting that I have a slight man-crush on him…and probably have since 1984. Given that fact, it should be no surprise to anyone that I squealed like a schoolgirl when Jer told me about the soon-to-be-released Epiphone Thunderbird Pro!
Holy steamin’ s#!tballs, I want one of these! Upon first look, there was nothing about the instrument I disliked. It has some of the features of a much more expensive Gibson that I wish my current T-bird had. The biggest of which is a through-body construction…but I’ll get to that in a bit.

Finishes: The T-bird Pro will initially have three finishes – Vintage Sunburst, Translucent Black and Natural Oil in both a 4-string and 5-string. I absolutely love the translucent black. The sunburst is cool too, but I think I like the old T-bird IV sunburst a bit more than this updated one. The natural finish is nice too, but not really my cup o’ tea.
